Updating vault aperture Reallivecam com

I started the backup last night, after running all night I got a message saying - 1960 errors occurred.

updating vault aperture-23

It is a 500 Gig drive - the computer only has 500 Gig, so the external drive should take all the photos I got. Once I have upgraded to Snow Leopard, I may just stay with that for a while so I can continue using Aperture 2.

Just within the last hour I have finally located someone that can come to my house and help me with my computer - not easy when you're out in the country like I am. At this time it really does everything I need to do.

Does that mean that 1960 photos have not been transferred? Also, OS X 10.6.8 is the last OS that supports Aperture 2.x.

If I go ahead now and install a new operating system will I lose my complete library in Aperture? If you want to update to OS X 10.10 Yosemite, you will have to run Aperture 3.6.

Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated - my computer knowledge is very limited.

The first 5 are: Error creating a directory in vault " Backup Vault".

OK Peter, you should know that when Photos ships (imminently), Apple will be removing Aperture from the App Store for new purchases, and will only be available to users who already have current App Store version.

If you don't have it by then, you're stuck on version 2.

Very good advice to backup everything up first, including the Aperture library of course (in my case to a portable hard drive which I just keep for Time Machine), also check that your hardware is compatible with Yosemite.
